Study Information

New Zealand Clinical Research is trialling an investigational medicine that could help people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD describes a group of disorders involving the inflammation of the digestive tract, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. This can cause symptoms such as diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weight loss. It is estimated that at least 20,000 New Zealanders live with IBD.

The study medication, RO7806881, is a bispecific antibody that is designed to target 2 pathways that are linked to IBD. By targeting these 2 pathways, RO7806881 may be an effective treatment in reducing the inflammation seen in IBD patients.

This is an investigational medication because it has not been approved by MedSafe or other drug regulatory authorities. Clinical trials involve an investigational drug and some study assessments.

This study 2025 FULL 23850 is being funded by F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd and has been approved by the Health and Disability Ethics Committee.
