NZCR helping the Pacific Islands.

Disposal of medical waste is a growing NZCR is reducing waste and helping the Pacific Islands at the same time.

Working with Pacific Pathology Training Centre, medical supplies that NZCR no longer needs are shipped to the Pacific Islands where the need is great. A current shipment is off to Fiji, with shipments to Tonga and the Solomon Islands coming up. NZCR Laboratory Manager, Amalini said “I have always wanted to repurpose these unused medical supplies we receive. It’s such a pity to discard medical equipment when there are so many countries that desperately need these supplies but can’t afford to buy them”.  Nice one NZCR!
